LET HER LIVE
Man is a social animal. Food, shelter, and clothing are his basic rights. But are these the only three rights enough for survival? To lead a good life most important is the “Right to Live”. Man in the society is using this right to the fullest. But what about the woman? Is she enjoying the “Right to Live”? Has anyone given it a thought?
In a country like India, the highest democracy in the world, gender equality exists only in books and speeches. Has it forgotten that women too stood shoulder to shoulder to men in freedom struggle?
A woman is always taken as a second option. She is considered as a helpless and a mere creature. But one should always remember that ‘a woman is biologically weak but socially strong.’ Women have now surpassed all the barriers of doubts of those who challenge her capabilities.
Education is denied to girls. Mostly in the rural areas people have made their mindset that educating girls is just wastage of their money. It is said that if a man is educated, he educates himself but if a woman is educated, she educates the whole family.
“Woman is a pearl, she is a wonder,
That makes the world whirl,
Who makes everyone ponder.”
With the weapon ‘education’ she has lit her life and also shown light to the ones in darkness.
The value and importance of a woman is beautifully explained in the Bible
“Be careful not to make a woman cry,
A woman came out of man’s rib,
Nor from his head to be over,
Under the arms to be protected.
Because God counts her tears,
Not from his feet to be walked on,
But from his side to equal,
Of next to the heart to be loved.”
It is truly shameful when people abort a female foetus. Is this what is expected from a civilized society? On one hand our country is developing rapidly, trying to reach the zenith but the situation on the other is just the opposite. Women are ill treated and eve teasing has become a common issue.
Women are now moving fast in life with the fast tone but people are yet not able to understand that they are heading towards a disguised destruction.
“Women are iconostasis whose value is yet overlooked so just remember –
Gone are the days, when boys were praised and girls suppressed,
Now is the time where girls stand tall,
They shine like stars and overcome fall
Achieve great heights
And ‘Fight for their rights’…..”
